What does all the information on your Moss window-door NFRC label mean?
1. You are assured when you see the NFRC label that the product produced by Moss has met the high standards required for certification.

2. U-factor is the standard measurement used to define thermal performance of a insulated glass unit. It is the hourly transfer of heat on one square foot of surface when there is a variance in temperature of one degree (F) of the air on two sides of the surface. The lower the number, the more efficient the window or door.

3. Solar Heat Gain Coefficient or SHGC.  This number indicates the effectiveness of the insulated glass unit in blocking radiant heat from the sun. The lower the number, the less heat from the sun is allowed into the home.

4. Visible Transmittance.  The amount of sunlight that passes through the glass.

5. Total assembly DP (Design Pressure).  Design Pressure is a measurement in pounds per square foot (psf) of the structural load a door or window is designed to withstand.

6. Product Size Tested.  This number indicates the largest size that this model has been tested and performed.

7. Impact Rating.  There will be no rating unless you have ordered a 6500 Series Impact window or 7250 Series patio door.

8. Applicable Test Standards.  This note indicates which standards the product has been tested.
The National Fenestration Rating Council is an organization that developed a total window-door approach to the performance of a product. Glass and frame are considered in testing.
