Energy Star

Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.

Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of Energy Star ®, saved enough energy in 2009 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 30 million cars—all while saving nearly $17 billion on their utility bills. And with studies showing that over 40% of a typical home’s annual energy expense is lost through inefficient windows and doors, Energy Star ® labeled windows are one of the most effective tools in conserving energy and reducing heating and cooling costs.

There is a wide variety of products that fall within the bounds of Energy Star ®. When it comes to vinyl windows and doors, Moss Supply Company is an Energy Star ® partner. With that commitment, Moss is focused on meeting the strict criteria of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy through Energy Star ®. Moss makes available Energy Star ® glass packages for each climate zone – Northern, North-Central, South-Central and Southern. These glass packages utilize insulating glass units with Low E with U4 technology, and DuraSeal spacer systems, drastically reducing the transfer of heat and cold. Low E alone can block up to 84% of the ultraviolet rays which can fade carpets, draperies, upholstered furniture, and artwork.
